Here Comes The Sun

The rains are gone and the sun is shining. Evacuees are leaving town in droves. Buses, ambulances, coast guard. Heading back home.

The plants were thirsty. And now are gearing up for the fall season. And hopefully a new set of blooms, since the heat has abated.

Plants have taken their nourishment and the sun is soaking up the last few drops of rain on their leaves.

  1. Pretty! I love your ‘sun catcher’, what a beauty! We’ve had sun since yesterday. I hope those headed home arrive safe and sound. Kind of scary not knowing what your going home to. Thank you for sharing your pretty blooms (and foliage) today!

  2. Beautiful and soothing pictures. That is probably why I like to come to your blog, because it makes me feel better afterwards.
It would be scary for the evacuees not knowing what to expect at home. Hopefully all is well for most.

  3. I’ve enjoyed seeing all your photos today and knowing that the rain has been so good to your plants and maybe not so harmful to evacuees.

  4. Our sun has also returned, Brenda, and we are having the most delicious fall day today!

  5. Oh no, you don’t love me anymore! I’m not on your sidebar! 😉
(((Brenda))) I love your gardens and your blooms are always so pretty to see. I wish you lived near me and could help me with my plants. They just don’t thrive under my black thumb.

  6. Oh, I love ajuga, such pretty leaves and teensy little blooms. Better hide that sun catcher, or the copper thieves will snatch it! We never got more than 5 minutes of rain; damn Gustav!

  7. Cute sun catcher, mine never saw the light this year i forgot to put it up, no harm done didn’t get a summer anyway.
On our weather channel they told us we are getting the tail end of Gustav,I couldn’t beleive it, but its been raining since last night, hasen’t stopped yet.
    Have a good weekend.

  8. Hi Brenda,
I always enjoy your garden pics and all the little trinkets you have in your garden. Hope the sun continues to shine on you and your garden!

  9. Sounds like all is faring well in your home and garden, Brenda. A lovely post (we also received welcome rain … not too much, but enough to hear plants sing) 😉

  10. Brenda, Ajuga grows wild here in the lawns. I think it’s pretty but a lot of people consider it a weed.

Personally, I don’t make much distinction between weeds and flowers. Who decided which was which anyway? I wonder!

  11. You have a beautiful page. I am new at blogging and I can’t even dream of having a page as nice as this. Nola sent me to your page for a look and I am so glad I made the trip. Good job. See you again soon.

  12. Hi Brenda
Your garden is so pretty! Our sunshine returned yesterday and the wonderful cool temperatures, brought by the rain, stayed around!

Hope you’re having a delightful weekend.

  13. Your garden is so pretty! Each pot is full of interesting things! Enjoy the autumn crispness and second flowering!

  14. Hi Brenda..I like the first picture of the sun shining through the trees…how peaceful and serene. Thank you for the get well card. I love it and have it on the table here next to me. Recovery is going slow…..but wanted to stop to say hello to you.
    *hugs*

  15. Brenda, Please bear with me, I am trying this out from a different angle. Nola

  16. Everything just sparkles! I love how fresh and clean the rain makes everything.

OUr visit from Hanna is now over with 5 inches of blessed rain left behind. We had very little wind so we were doubly blessed.

    Have a wonderful Sunday!
